How to use Tecnu Original Cleanser to Remove Poison Ivy and Oak Oil from your Tools
Poison ivy, oak, and sumac rashes are your skin's reaction to the plant's oil. This oil, called urushiol, can be difficult to get rid of. It can spread easily on the skin and sit for years on the surface of objects such as gardening tools and equipment.
When coming in contact with poison ivy, oak, or sumac while gardening, your tools can pick up urushiol. Unless urushiol is washed away with a cleanser that can break up and remove the oil, it can stay on the surface for a long time. It is a good idea to clean your tools after use and before storing them for the winter. Then you will not have to remember if they have been in contact with poison plants.
Tecnu Original Outdoor Skin Cleanser removes poison ivy, oak, and sumac from tools. This helps prevent coming in contact with the oil later. Clean your tools before storing them for future use if they have come in contact with the oil.
Check out the video above or follow these simple 2 steps below to effectively use Tecnu Original to clean your tools:
Step One: Saturate cloth/towel in Tecnu Original Cleanser and wipe off your equipment thoroughly.
Step Two: Wash equipment thoroughly with soap and water.
